Greetings from THE BREW BARN. A year ago, I started brewing, using The Mr. Beer system, and have had a great time being a "Home Brewer" producing several varieties from a light to a very dark St. Patricks Irish Stout. Mr. Beer is a great system plus the interaction with the company is flawless and very friendly and inexpensive. I will be using Mr. Beer and other systems brewing larger batches. I have also brewed a 6 gal. batch of Shiraz wine (30 bottles).  Recently there has been a lot of information coming from scientists here in the USA telling us the benefits of the darker beers and consuming in moderation.  We all have read how good red wines are for us but now they say the dark beers have four times more vitamins,  antioxidents, and minerals than the wine. I give away most of what I make and some day soon would like to step up to brewing an "All Grain Beer".  What a great hobby in my old age.  I am also interested in locating other home brewers in this area and the history of home brewing.  What about fellowshipping once in awhile to enjoy each others product and to learn?  Tomorrow I am brewing up an English Bitter Ale (5 gals.). This is a mix from Australia...
